Carolina Strass is deeply passionate about fostering connections among people and making a positive impact through helping others. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, she is currently pursuing an MBA in People Management and Design Thinking. Carolina’s journey has taken her across borders, with academic stints in Texas, US, and Lille, France, alongside professional experiences spanning Canada and the United States.

In her role as the Global Coordinator at Extraordinary Women in Tech (EWiT) within Avenue Code, Carolina spearheads the organization and management of exclusive networking events tailored for women tech executives and emerging stars in the industry. These events serve as pivotal platforms where attendees can forge meaningful connections with peers and mentors, access cutting-edge insights, and become part of a vibrant community of female thought leaders.

As the linchpin of these gatherings, Carolina serves as the primary liaison for speakers, members, mentors, attendees, and sponsors alike. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures the seamless and successful execution of each event, contributing to the growth and empowerment of women in the tech sphere.

Fátima is an experienced lawyer with 16 years of experience in Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Investigations and Auditing. Fátima has worked abroad, namely in Africa (Angola) for 9 years doing investigations and Forensics work for the Government and since 2020 has assumed the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel position at Critical Techworks, a joint venture between Critical Software and BMW AG, in Portugal.

She’s currently responsible for the leadership and management of the department and with responsibility and accountability for the identification, management and monitoring of compliance risk to which the company might be exposed.
Fátima holds 3 master degrees – Data Privacy, Corporate Law and Intellectual Law. Currently working in a software developing company, Fátima is focused in Technology and has focused her professional development around the different legal challenges associated with the area, namely IP&TMT – trademarks and patents and Data Privacy.
Registered in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Certified Data Protection Officer by the ICS and certified in ESG (Environmental, social and governance) by the Corporate Governance institute.
Fátima has provided many lectures and conferences related to several themes namely with data privacy, legal privilege, ESG/sustainability, whistleblowing, cyber crime/cyber security and more recently about the new AI act. Fátima is keen on sharing her 2 sides if the investigation work – preventive and remediation and is very focused on women empowerment in areas in which the majority of the professionals are still male. She has been recognized this year in March as one of the 50 more inspirational women in the legal sector from in the Iberian Peninsula.

Yulia Pavlova is the Director of Technology Innovation at Reuters News Agency. With over 10 years of experience in Applied Research and Development, Yulia leads an Applied Innovation lab at Reuters that focuses on AI/ML enhancements and MLOps lifecycle of enterprise products. She develops new technological opportunities to improve the company’s offerings and works cross-functionally with business partners and stakeholders to ensure business and customer impact.

One of her recent achievements is the development of a customer-facing AI tool for Reuters video content that generates automated time-coded transcripts, translation of many languages into English, and identification of public figures. This tool is part of the Reuters Connect service, which offers access to over 600,000 videos, six live streams, and 23 million pictures from Reuters journalists.

Claudia Chandra is currently a part time Chief Product Officer at Buyerry, a startup redefining the consumer buying experience, and a member of the Advisory Board of OptimEyes, a startup in next gen AI-powered Governance, Risk, and Compliance and Modal Learning, an employee e-Learning startup. She was previously the Chief Product Officer of the Data, AI, Edge Platform, and Analytics as well as Fiix Computerized Maintenance Management System at Rockwell Automation. Claudia Chandra has over 20 years of experience as a product leader in enterprise cloud and data management. Prior to Rockwell, Claudia led Data services on Oracle Cloud and was with Informatica for 15 years leading different parts of the business including Data Security and Cloud Data Management. She also led products at a number of startups, and Informix Software. She has a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering from UC Berkeley and a second Masters in Construction Engineering & Management from Stanford University. Claudia holds a number of patents in data, storage, and cellular handover optimization.
